grinding in and out of 5th gear
my dad was driving my car the other day and he said he noticed it was grinding in and out of 5th gear, it was always a bit unsmooth into 5th but i hadnt ever really thought about it. but now it bothers me everytime i shift into 5th.
it does not do it at all though when the car is idleing or not moving, it only happens when i am moving.
this occasionally happens in 2nd gear as well, not too often, but when it does it is pretty bad. I also dont ever think i have grinded 5th gear so why would my tranny be doing this?
thanks for the help

been reading around and some people could say it could just be transmission fluid but i had mine changed about 2k miles ago when i had my 30k maintenance.
one guy said his got wrecked by doing too many 100+ mph runs and then dumping the clutch? i have only gone over 100 once or twice while in 5th gear back in the day when i was stupid and used to do that.

How do you dump a clutch at 100MPH. What fluid was used during your last service. It can be due to the fluid used but usually it is caused by people who don't know how to drive stick properly.
Oh, and FYI, you are STILL a noob.

no clue didnt really know what that mean but thats what someone said. I had it done at the dealership with my 30k maintenance so i have no clue.
Im not very aggressive with my clutch or shifter when i drive so and i always wait with the clutch engaged before i do a multiple gear downshift or upshift so.
lol, i think you were a part of some of my old threads; if you go back and read those im far better than i used to be. I have learned a lot from being on here and would no longer classify myself as a noob. im just not a 19k post saint like you. not meant to be hating.

Post count has nothing to do with it, there are many noobs who have been here a while,
If your dealership did it then they likely used Mazda fluids which is good. But, I would check the fluid levels and then report back because dealers hire anyone so they could have mucked it up.

okay will check that thanks. i think it has been doing it for quite a while actually. could also be from either previous owner or possible even when me and my brother were learning how to drive stick.
