HELP!!!...Exhaust manifold Clamps

Hello all,

so here is what happened...I was driving my 2004 auto Rx8 yesterday and i noticed a noise coming from the front right of my car when I hit the brakes. Soon after before i made it a mile home my car was rattling only in drive and fine in park and neutral. So i automatically assumed it was the right engine mount, because i read this bulletin already. I printed the bulletin, left at dealer with keys and received a call at 9:15 a.m. Tech dept. doesnt open until 9:00 a.m....so aparently my car was looked at for 15 minutes and the bulletin was ignored. I was told that the manifold or shields on the exhaust needs 4 clamps 2 small and 2 bigger ones as it is loose and thats the noise i am hearing. $120- also, my brakes need to be spit shined with lube and all that good stuff so they dont stay closed, due to water getting in there....

My question to you guys is BS or are they telling me the truth...car has 50k miles

I've seen a few caliper pins seized because the boot slid off.
I had it happen to one of my calipers and it wore the pad behind the rotor to the bare metal and actually dug into my rotor.
Since that pad didn't have a wear indicator tab, I didn't hear anything until the pad was completely worn.
I ended up taking the pins out, cleaned and greased them, and zip-tied the boots once the pins were reinstalled so they would slide off again.
So its good that they are taking care of that now.
