HELP I have a CEL on
My CEL is on so I stop at autozone to check it out the code is: P0455
Definition
EVAP large leak detected
Explanation
The ECM has detected a large leak in the EVAP system during a system monitor test
Probable causes
1. Defective, loose or missing fuel cap
2. EVAP canister broke, hose cracked or not connected
3. Purge or vent solenoid defective
4. Vacuum leak at engin
Thats what autozone receipt said
So I check the fuel cup its ok and under the car I didnt see any leaks but its dark outside I will have to check one more time tomorrow morning
What is EVAP??? where to take a look for it
Any suggestion about number 3 and 4???????
Thanks

How do you know the gas cap is fine?? P0455 is almost always a gas cap issue and you cannot tell by looking at it or putting it on. You can buy a new cap for under $15.00 or spend a few hours letting the dealer fix it if still under warranty.

When I had the P0455 issue the cap screwed on fine. I reset the CEL and it came back again. I bought a new cap and the cel went away. Half of the EVAP system is by the fuel tank, the labor involved in working on that is high. Get a new gas cap, it should solve the problem.

But if the car wasnt run earlier and get warmed up I would probably get it flodded first time hmmm It was bicouse computer need a time to figure out about an amount of fuel the car need?????
