NJ Help! Not sure if loss of power could be badly slipping clutch.

I am very confused at this point. My 04 6 speed has 77k and about a month ago i brought it in to Mazda for lack of power. It had been this way since i bought it approximately 2 months ago. Well my Cat was destroyed (got a new one under warranty) and i changed the plugs/coils myself which were horrible. Mazda also did a flash to the car after they installed the cat. The car was running EXCELLENT, the most power i had felt in the car since its purchase. Now for the past 2 weeks ive noticed it has lost some power and doesnt pull nearly as hard as at previously has for the past month. The cars clutch is very bad and i ordered a new ACT clutch and prolite flywheel . Could my power loss be due to a slipping clutch? Car does not have any dash lights on such as check engine or anything like that. Any suggestions on what it could be? Thanks guys

a slipping clutch is very easy to diagnose . Rpms would climb without a corresponding increase in road speed . Does that happen ?

Damn! Yea thats what i thought. And no it does not do that. I guess i was just hoping i was the clutch even though i kinda figured it wasnt. Thx for the response though. Any other suggestions besides plugs/wires/cat and coils?

Seized brake caliper can cause this symptom.
I just had to change out my float pins.

Hmm ok. I guess i can diagnose that by letting it roll in neutral and see if i sense slight braking?

bad clutch test. Put it in gear and step on it hard. If RPMs go up and car doesn't move as supposed to then its bad clutch. I just swapped my clutch because this. when stepping on gas hard it felt like tires were spinning.

Another way to check a "bad" clutch is to select 4th or 5th gear, apply the hand brake, bring the revs up and release the clutch as if you were taking off from a stand still, dont just dump it. If the revs remain stable, its the clutch, if the revs drop like it wants to stall, its not the clutch.

Just an update guys, car is running strong and im very content. I ended up seafoaming the car and also removed the maf sensor and cleaned it with CRC electronic parts cleaner. The car is running with power and is ALOT smoother throughout the revband. The car no longer bogs when i take off (which is why i originally thought it could be a clutch problem since i was aware my clutch is nearing its end) . Sooo with that said i am now ready to install my Act clutch kit and prolite flywheel.. thx for the suggestions guys
