Help please!!
i am having some trouble with my 2004 rx8 (manual, 65K miles, intake/exhaust, cobb).
i drove it early this morning and it was fine. left it for two hours, started it up and it sounded and felt really rough and bogged down while idling. tried driving and it stalled out after 30 seconds. restarted car and continued to barely idle and if i tried giving it gas it would stall out.
any ideas?
all i could come up with was that i don't know what my coolant level is like (looks fairly empty).
any help is much appreciated....thanks.

65000 miles...spark Plugs new 2 months ago and haven't
Checked coils...MAF cleaned a month ago...never had cat inspected but it looks really hot after only two minutes of the car idling. Car will start, idle very roughly for a minute then die. Almost behaves as though it were flooded but it's not. I think it's going to get towed at this point

it's usually recommended that you change your plugs and coils at the same time, at around 25k miles. Or, you could look into the Black Halo Racing Coils (blackhaloracing.com). do a search on those, as they are highly recommended.
You may also want to check your fuel pump. Sounds like you could be starving your engine of fuel.
About your cat- you are still under warranty. I'd have the dealer replace it.

i know its best to do plugs and coils together but the plugs got done by accident (long story) so nothing else was done at that time. the shop thinks the problem is the coils so hopefully that solves the issue.
the local stealership people aren't too friendly and i don't want to put everything back to stock.
thanks for the help/ideas

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!
Dealerships usually wants you to have your vehicle in a stock condition. If they find just one additional modification, they will void the warranty on the spot. Never trust them and when you bring it back to them for warranty work (when you have mods), put the original parts back and you'll be okay.
