hey, i guess i should post this here how do i tell if my car is flooded.
my car isnt starting when i turn the key it makes sounds but not like its really "turning over"
when i hooked it up to jumper cables with my dads car for a good 15min it sounded like it was trying to start. but it still wouldn't
does this mean my engine is flooded an should follow the steps here https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...light=flooding,
last time it was started i only drove it for about a minute.
my clutch is blown could this be the problem, i was hoping i could just start it again so i could drive it to the shop to get the new clutch installed, or is this a more serious problem .

Try jump starting it in second gear. Also make sure your battery termianls are clean and tight

i already cleaned an even replaced one of my terminals, so ur saying put the car in second then crank it over,

no, he means push start it.

having someone push the car in 2nd gear release the clutch when you get up to speed and it should start, if the problem is your battery.

of course have your key to "on" position.

Can we get some more info on your car. Like mileage, and when the last time your ignition coils and spark plugs were replaced. And i see from your first post you did not let the car warm up before shutting it off correct? Take your spark plugs out and look at them they might be fouled.

46k on the car no i didnt let it warm up last time i started it, i bought the car with 38k on it i dont know if the spark pulgs or ignition coils have been repalced before that but i havent.
would push starting work if the clutch is bad though

if you didn't let it warm up before you shut it down then is propably flooded.

you can try pushing the gas all the way down to cut fuel and crack it a few times for 10-15 seconds and hopefully it will start.

if not

remove and clean spark plugs, pull out the fuel pump fuse and crank it a few times till excesive fuel comes out of the spark plug holes. then put spark plugs and fuse back and it should start.

It's easiest to remove the left front wheel and jackstand the vehcle so you can reach straight in to the sparkplugs. There's a floppy dust guard that should also be pivoted out of the way by removing one plastic poppet screw. A socket extension with a univeral or wobble joint is also very helpful. (see the sparkplug DIY)

A solvent, e.g. WD-40, and an old toothbrush or very fine wire brush will do the trick. Be careful not to change the 'plug gap, or double check it with a gap tool (or vernier gauge) if necessary.

Don't forget to put some anti-seize paste on the sparkplug threads when reinstalling. Makes life allot easier he next time you change 'plugs.

Oh, and of course put the right 'plug (leading and trailing) in the right hole. The engine has cast 'L' and 'T'.'

The proper gap is in the first page of the DIY - read!

edit: btw: you don't need to pull the fuel pump fuse. Just holding down the accelerator to the floor locks out additional fuel flow.
