Helppp pleasee! Asapp
2004 mazda rx8 - 6spd
So yesterday i started my car and then i turned it off bc i had to run bak into work bc i had left my wallet... when i had started the car everthing was normal. i come bak to the car and when i tried to turn it on there was no CRANK at all... IDK WAT IS GOIN ON! can someone please help me.
I checked the relay switches (starter and ignition) and they seem to be fine. I turn the key all the way and depress on the clutch and i get nothing.
No clicking noises as if my battery was dead bc its not. battery is good.

He cited No crank at all. Read peeps!
It still turns over in a flooded situation but won't start, so that's probably not it.
Are you sure your battery is good? Have a shop check its capacity, not just instantaneous voltage level.
Perhaps your starter has gone bad? (note related: the starter was upgraded in mid-2005 and many 04's weren't retorfitted, even tho' it was free during B-toB warranty).

thanks guy..
wat i will do is look @ at the DYI for flooded engines... and yes i did note tht there was no CRANK!! ill try to deflooded and if tht doesnt workk then i will look into a new starter.
If i do get a new starter, when i get it from an auto parts center. should I tell them tht my car is a 2006 or 07. bc if i tell them i have 04 wouldnt i get the crappy starter as the the previous guy noted tht after 2005 they upgraded the startes in the 8's?

Extraordinary Engineering
There is another switch to sense when the clutch pedal is fully up.

Could be the switch, I had the same problem when I changed the bracket. I have to adjust it to accommodate the travel of the pedal. Also, the only time I flooded my 8 last April, I kept cranking it for 20 minutes, I called a friend to tether his battery with mine as it drained due to multiple tries of de-flooding until it eventually turned over.

You can easily test whether the switch is working or not with a meter. Just check for circuit continuity. Which I would do prior to dropping $30 if that's not the problem. Then again, $30 might not mean as much to you as it does me?

There's no need to pull the fuel pump fuse when deflooding, as simply holding the pedal to the floor, as owner's manual instructed, cuts off any add'l fuel flow.
Best to use a charger when deflooding as it will certainly drain an already weakened battery.
You can temporarily bypass the clutch pedal starter interlock switch if necessary by inserting a 16-18 awg spade connector in the wiring harness socket.
The starter is always 'hot', so do be careful when working on it. Best to disconnect the battery prior.
There should only be the newer starters available from reputable firms at this point in time.
