hoping I just need a wheel alignment?!

When I drive normally the car is perfectly fine. But if I floor it from second into third the car will pull to the right. Scared the hell out of me the first time it happened..but it is controllable. The culprit I believe is the new rims/tires I got..sound like I need an alignment to any of you?

Never had this problem with OEM rims and potenza's

It can be a couple things.

1) Unbalanced wheels
2) Unequal tire pressure
3) Alignment

It is less likely to be an alignment issue or a tire pressure issue because it only happens at speed...but you can't rule it out. If you go back to OEM and it goes straight you can rule out alignment as long as your wheels/tires are the same size. Take it back to where you had the work done and they can tell you for sure.

1. Uneven tire wear
2. Different brand tires on each side of rear.
3. One of the rear tires is newer or both weren't replaced at same time.
4. Are your rear tires matched?

Make sure both rear tires are exactly the same size. May sound impossible but it has happened.

Should really get an alignment with a set of new tires anyway

You may have had a combo of trammlining from the wider tires..and a bit of oversteer from the alignment or other issues

could also be something called radial tire pull where the steel belts are layed in the tire incorrectly and causes said tire to lean causing a push or pull to diagnose go to tire rack and read up on it

i know this might sound stupid, but could it be because of chirping your tires after you shift? the loss of traction for a split second could make the car kinda fishtail out

one last thing could be a brake pulling. Did you check to make sure your brakes are functioning properly and releasing properly?

thanks for the help guys ^^. I'll check all these things when I get home from vacation. It shouldn't be an alignment then because I know I can go back to stock and be fine.

I would check your tire pressures and make sure your tires are balanced. After that is checked, I would check the alignment. I had the same problem at about 25k miles but it turned out my tires were just out of balance. I guess I got lazy with the tire rotation.
