The first set of numbers look quite high compared to the normalized numbers. What was the test RPM for those? You must have a crazy good starter.
Also, where'd the numbers come from in the attachment from post #2 here? That's where I got the 680 figure.

Spoke with MNAO again today, tried to escalate it, he basically stonewalled me, said there's no one else to talk to. I called the deal back and he said that once temps go over 80 degrees there's a pretty good chance they could produce a low power situation, so for now I guess I wait a few months. Warranty doesn't expire till next November so there's still time, still pretty shitty of Mazda IMO. Customer service, how does that work?

So MNAO told you that even with the failed compression test, you have to experience drivability issues in order for them to replace the engine?
Sounds like a bunch of bull to me.

When I brought mine in to have tested, I just stated I has having hard starting when the engine was warm. My compression numbers were also very similar to yours. Only one rotor was failing but only slightly (I believe around 550 and the others were around 600-650).

If I didn't have the hard starting problem even after I changed the starter, I probably wouldn't have tested it.

I didn't know if I had a loss of power because I've never driven any other rx8 before but after I got mine replaced, I could definitely tell a big difference.

Sorry, I missed this. To be honest, I don't know. There is more than one graph in the service manual, and it isn't clear what the higher graph is for. There is a 3rd which is a joint graph from both the one I linked and the one you linked, shows 2 lines on the same chart. The only reasoning I have been able to figure out is that the higher one is where the engine is "supposed to be", but doesn't actually get classified as "failing" until it hits the lower.

It's the best explanation I have.

Just hoping they can make the required "issue" appear once the weather turns. Seems to be what they were hinting at.
