Idle problems

I been having problems with my idle i read a few threads and followed some peoples info and cleaned my MAF sensor...but i still have one problem!! When i am driving and come to a light i usually put it in neutral and when i do the rpms drop below idle and then the car dies and i have to turn it all the way off and then start it again. im trying to decide if its a computer issue or somthing else.. any input will help.

You have a Sunlight Silver??? ...all hope is lost!!!

Just kidding, Swoope's giving you the straight and narrow on an 04 with 49K miles. While your there, drop a few extra bucks on a compression test after the dealer does their thing and get the results documented on your service order...

I'm encountering similiar issues at idle. I have an 05, with about 49,900 miles on it. Many people suggested plug change, so I did it today but the same issue remains. At a stop, whether after hard driving or normal cruising, the idle hovers just a tad above the 3rd line (750rpm??). Is this too low? What can I do? At cold starts, I do not have any problems starting the car, ever, and when the RPM is higher it feels just fine. It's not so much the idle, but what's my main concern is on take off. My take off method hasn't changed since I've purchased the car, but now it feels like it's bogging, and sometimes the RPM gets so low all the lights come on (like it's about to stall before I rev it way back up to get the car going). The plugs weren't the problem...any ideas or help? Is this something I can take straight up with the dealer?

You are still under warranty, so take it to a dealer and have them check out the car. There are several recent service bulletins and a PCM update that may help your problem and they should perform the services.

idle

Does it go away when you turn off your airconditioning ????

I did have the same problems, in my case it just turned out to be caused by the compressor of the airconditioning system because there was not enough gas on the circuit !!

This might sound kind of weird but I been having issues with my RX8 (see: http://www.rotarycarclub.com/showthread.php?t=1569).

I've replaced all new coils, plugs, wires, etc.... and the solution was new battery
