Illuminated Entry Issue- Lights Won't Turn Off
Hey guys....I just got my car back from the dealer. They had it for warranty service work on the sunroof (replaced entire assembly) and steering wheel (replaced entire steering wheel since they damaged the original the first time they tried to repair my sunroof). Tonight was the first time I got in it at night since I got it back (Thursday).
I noticed that I have to flip the switches on both the rear and front interior lights to "off" rather than their normal "door" position, or else they stay on while I drive. The door lights stay on, too (can't figure out how to disable them). I checked to make sure all doors were shut properly and that doesn't seem to be the issue. I was afraid of having the door (courtesy) lights on all night since there isn't a switch to disable them and having the battery drain, so I got in the interior fuse panel and pulled fuse 14 (15 amp) which is supposed to disable the interior lights. The fuse did its job, but also disables the power locks, alarm, remote, cd, etc which all appear to be on different interior fuses according to the chart in the owner's manual. I started the car up with this fuse out and my check engine light came on and the car seemed to want to die until I gave it a little gas. When I put the fuse back in and started the car again the engine light is off, but the car still seems to idle weird. At this point, the car is off, the fuse is out and I am looking for answers.
Please let me know if you are familiar with this issue. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing the original problem? Does anyone know why that fuse would disable all of the other items when it is labeled "interior lights?" Anyone know why the check engine light comes on? Thanks for the help!
Chris
