Injen Intake issues
Hey guys, i recently just installed an injen sp6080 intake in my rx8 and I have been having some trouble. First to say the install went well, no problems everything was just plug and play.
When i first installed the intake i made sure all the clamps were tight and there were no idling issues. At first car sounded great and intake was loud (thing sounded like a G35). As time went on the intake was less noticable in 1st and 2nd gear and i would have idling issues, the car would flucuate its rpm's and then restabalize itself. I went back to check the clamps and they had become loose so I upgraded all the worm clamps to t-bolt clamps...and even to be safe i used little worm clamps on the hoses.
When i replaced the clamps same thing...sounded great and loud at first...time went on and it became less noticable in 1st and 2nd gear but this time when checking the clamps they were exactly where they had been. I know because I painted the threads so incase they came loose i would see the paint. I checked the hose clamps and they are perfectly fine. Can some please shine some light on why my intake is dying out in he beginning gears? Btw there are no idle issues with the car right now. Thanks guys

Any check engine lights? Have you checked the intake assembly closely for leaks due to cracks? It could be a few things but generally aftermarket intakes aside from the RB one are more headaches than they are worth. The factory intake system is really good actually.

im having an issue with my injen intake. Since the install my engine light has come on, when it was first installed everything was fine, then i was driving it one day, and the engine light came on and it stayed lit. Aswell it tends to turn on and off randomly, when i start it somedays it reads no engine light ,then after a couple km it will turn back on, my rx8 only has18332km it sounds great and no idle issue it turns on like a charm and redlines like a rotory should. i own a 2009 rx8 S2. Has anybody ever have this issue, help me help my rx8

I'd go double or triple check the intake.
I have the same intake and the silicon hose/adapters have a very slippery coating on them and would cause them to slip a bit until that coating was "baked" off. Mine has been on for about a year and I've not had any issues with it. But I did have to realign it once due to that slippery coating and since then it has been golden. I didn't have any issues, just happened to notice it once while cleaning the engine bay.
