input shaft seal leak now clutch slipping...
well i had a post a few weeks ago about an oil leak. dealer finaly determined it was the input shaft seal, and replaced it under power train warranty. 2 days after i had the car back i began to notice a slight slip in the clutch, over the past week it has gotten to where i cant rev very high or it slips, and the rpms shoot up but the car dont go any faster....lol i called my dealer 4 times and finnaly yesterday they returned my call. it goes in tomorow. they are saying the clutch isnt covered under power train waranty, and i agree, HOWEVER to me this is obviously a result of the input shaft seal leaking oil onto the clutch, as i had no issues with it before the seal went out.
my question to all of you is this: i have had 3 macanic friends tell me that if the input shaft seal goes, and it is leaking oil onto the ground there is no way that the clutch will stay dry. can anyone ellaborate on this and give me more info. i feel that if i can show or prove that the slippage is from the seal it would then be under warranty
btw dealer wants $1400 to replace clutch....ouch!

Typical, should have been caught whether it was either that or worn out so they really have no excuse. They will fight you all the way, but maybe you can get them to install a new clutch for free if you buy it through them because they should have advised you on it at the same time they had it apart.
