Installed gnd kit and ODO added 200K?

I installed a groung kit on my 2004 GT today. Un-hooked the battery, installed the cables, re-connected the battery. When i went for a test drive i noticed the odometer had changed from about 28K to 290K. Also radio presets were gone and i needed to do the lock to lock with the steeering wheel to get the DSC light off. I read about this somewhere but searched and found nothing. Any help on how to correct milage would be greatly appreciated. Adding 260K miles to my car in an afternoon is not what i had in mind for todays activities.

That a new one, I think you will need to go to a dealership. letting individuals adjust a cars odometer is a big no-no and something I don't think is possible.

Dealership time.
Remove said grounding kit.
Also, if you have a recent invoice showing your mileage, that will definitely help your cause

If you look at a few "looking to buy an 8" threads that have popped up, a lot of them say they've found 04-05 8's with fairly low (30-40k) mileage on them. Maybe it's because of the gas consumption that people used them more as a weekend driver?

To the OP, follow Jedi's instructions

News Flash. I went out and unhooked the battery again and let it sit for an hour. Low and behold the milage is back to the original setting. And yes Victoria, 27K and change is the original milage. Purchased it 2 months ago from the original owner with all the original reciepts. It had the original front tires on it. I am worried what might happen the next time i disconnect the battery

I am out of warranty already except for the 8 year extended engine warranty. That runs out later this year and with only about 30K in the second engine. I am trying to take good care of it and hoping for the best with the motor
