Installing aftermarket cat problem

So my stock cat was going out so I had to go ad buy a new one. The dealership one was ridiculously priced so I went to autozone and bought the Magnaflow one since it was cheaper.

I had to take it to a dealership (in a dorm so no tools) and they just called saying that the 02 sensor doesnt fit on the whole in the cat. Is it supposed to be like this? Am i supposed to buy a different O2 sensor? I havent been by the dealership yet so I havent seen what theyre talking about.

Any help is appreciated.

sounds like you may need to have a bung welded onto the new cat with the correct thread pitch of the stock o2 sensor.

in all seriousness i would see if you can return the cat to autozone, and try to find a used cat on the forums. the magnaflow will probably be toast pretty quick on this car. also not 100% sure a non-oem cat would pass smog if you need to test for emissions, you may want to do a search on this.

every O2 sensor has the same thread, so if the O2 wont thread in your cat, you either have a bad cat, or a stripped thread on the sensor.
