Intake = Check Engine Light?
I recently put an air intake on my rx8. I revved it for a little to test out the sound and such. The Check engine light started blinking and I started smelling gas, as if it was running rich and misfiring. It turns out buddy didn't tighten one of the couplers down and was leaking air bad. So maybe the MAF Sensor went haywire? I tightened it back down, no leaks and I tested it and it was fine. Although the check engine light was still on. I scanned it and these were the codes I got.
p2097
p0300
p0172
They might be old codes because I fixed it? Thanks.

I put together a custom intake myself, and I'm using some spectre filter. I'm waiting for a weapon r filter to come! I reset the codes and they haven't came back. Thanks everyone! This is my first rx8, and the rx8 forums are a lot friendlier then the honda civic forums. aha.

Throw your custom filter again, don't buy the weapon R and resort to either an AEM or a Racing beat one.
Maf based cars are fairly sensitive to intakes, HiFlite999 is right. Most intakes lose power or screw with your fuel trims.
