issue starting after battery change

Alright the car has been sitting for a while and the battery is old and wouldn't hold a charge even after charging overnight on a trickle charger. Well the car would start and run fine but I wanted to replace the battery before I sell it. Well stupid me messed up and place the terminals on the opposite ends. The car honked to signal the mess up and I corrected the it. Now the cars instrument panel will come on but that's it, no radio, power doors, locks etc and will not attempt to crank over.

I'm guessing there is a fuse or circuit blown but not sure which or where. I checked the 60 right off the ppsi time lead but that's fine. Any ideas?

I would recommend checking the fuses with a multimeter or $1 fuse checker to see if you blew one.

will the car even crank after all this? or does nothing electrical work?

Absolutely no electrical work other than the instrument cluster, no cranking either

For future reference the 120 amp main fuse under the hood is the one that blows when you do this.

Well, if you blew that one or think you did I would say try replacing it and see if there are any results. You may have to go down the line and see what fuses are blown and which are good.

I just changed the battery in my '04 - when I hook up the battery (cables are too short to connect negative to positive) The running lights stay on and the horn blows. I pulled the horn fuse - I saw in another forum that if you open the trunk, that will reset it. Didn't work.
With the battery hooked up, if I turn the ignition key, the windshield wipers turn on - I can flash the high beams - but that's about all it can do electrically.

Any ideas?
