Issues with Battery....

Hi guys,

With the hot weather that we have been experiencing here on the West Coast, I've been noticing that the car is intermittently getting the DSC/TCS blinking here and then. Even after I re-calibrate the sensor (move the wheel clockwise full-lock and then move the wheels counter-clockwise full-lock - then center), the symptoms will come back randomly.

I'm trying to figure out if this is an alternator issue, battery issue, or something else. I took the car in for service (most recent flash and taillights) and they did perform a battery check - which it passed.

I can't understand WHY my car keeps resetting and what not. It will have the radio presets gone and I have to repeat the sensor calibration every time it does shut off.

Any help on this? I've searched for the cause of this, but there was nothing there.

Possibly a flaky connection either at the battery terminals or the ground connection. Clean and tighten.

That's what I was thinking as well.

I did clean, check, and re-tighten the connections to the ground and at the terminals. We'll see if that solves the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I got the battery and alternator checked - everything looks good. Can it possibly be a relay? Can it be an actual ECU fault?

How old is your battery?

don't start the car with the A/C on.

I bought the car with 21k miles, it now has 28k miles. I've owned the car for about 6 months now. I wouldn't know how old the battery is since it was on there when I bought it.

I'm considering getting a new battery. Do you guys think the dry batteries i.e. Optima will be able to combat the heat a bit better?
