GA just bought.

Hi guys I just bought an RX8 and I took it to Mazda to get it checked out and they told me I should get a Transmission flush and when I asked why I needed it they said it would help the car. So do i need it or are they trying to make a quick buck? Also it looks like I have a motor mount failing but when I told them to just replace it they told me they couldn't they have to wait till it completely fails. but wouldn't waiting mess the car up more? Thanks for the help.

I would take it somewhere else to get transmission flush. Mazda charges way too much I had mine done for less than half the price of what they quoted me at mazda

Why wait for the engine mounts to fail if it's already shaking badly? Call the Mazda headquarters office and complain about it. They should direct you in a positive way. Good luck.

yeah they wanted $200 with labor for the flush, so i will look else where.

The car shakes a little when i put it in reverse but when i told him to just replace it he said he couldn't because he didn't know which one was bad.

I take it you car is an automatic?

If yes, then follow these instructions:

open Hood.
Start car.
Place car in drive.
Firmly hold brake with left foot.
Apply gas pedal, and watch to see if engine lifts up.
Release gas pedal.
Place car in reverse.
Apply gas pedal, and watch to see if engine lifts up.
Release gas pedal.

If it lifts up higher in drive, that's usually the right engine mount.
If it lifts higher in reverse, usually the left engine mount.
You should be able to see the engine move quite a bit.

If the engine practically jumps out of the car, both are dead.

BC.
