Just how loud is the fuel pump when it primes?

I'm mildly annoyed with RockAuto's customer service, they told me they've had reports of this pump being defective from prior customers, and they haven't changed the photo on the website or even made a notation of it. I Called them up, and didn't get much in the way of customer help...at all. At least they could do is pay for expedited shipping on the second pump I'm about to order considering they screwed up the first one.

That looks like the S2 assembly
This is not an aftermarket only thing, it happened to even Mazda before, shipped me completely wrong part, I ordered OMP line they shipped 4 CX7 door handle to me, then I returned and they shipped me 3 of the same (with different part number label) OMP line to me ...

But the Delphi should be here by the first, I'll take pics when it arrives. Anyone else have any information they can chime in with about this Airtex design problem?

I thought I might add to this post because I just replaced my original fuel pump with this airtex model, pretty sure mine is the exact same one your showing here. The inner fuel line with the blue plastic clip is mounted horizontally and on the bottom of the pump and not where the original one was which was vertical. So, after first seeing this I was alarmed and after looking a little more I also realized that the inner fuel line with the blue clip wouldn't even fit properly over that nipple. On the mazda pump that nipple is much shorter and allows that blue clip to snap over the ring on the nipple. On the airtex pump the nipple is to long and won't allow the blue clip to properly snap over the ring on the nipple. So now I'm really alarmed and upset.
So after looking further and inspecting the way the inner fuel line fits over that nipple I decide to alter the nipple and basically make it the same length as the mazda one. I did this by holding the pump in my hand and placing the nipple on a flat surface and slowly cutting around the nipple at the correct length with a razor knife. This seems to work perfectly as now that blue clip snaps beautifully over that nipple. Now I go to drop the pump into the tank and install it and I also realize that inner fuel line with the blue clip has permanent angles made into it so that it could fit around the pump and meet up with it's original mounting location vertically on the mazda pump. So now that fuel line wants to sandwich under the pump as I lowered it in, this was no good. So I had to push the fuel line off to the right and out of the way of the pump or else the pump wouldn't be able to sit low enough to install it. I put everything back together and the car started right up with no hesitation. Went for a few good rides and all is good, seems 100% as of now. It's only been a couple of days since I installed it but at this point it's working.
And also I got this airtex fuel pump from amazon not rockauto but it does seem to be the exact same part.

If you look at the last thread you made, I commented warning you about this fuel pump...sadly I was to late. From the looks of the airtex assembly I got (and you) I think they just ended up accidentally crossing the SI and SII designs in. And Yes, I had the same issue with that Airtex, I just pulled it out and got my money back. Ordered a Delphi.

Good news on that front at least. But yeah, I did notice the line wouldn't fit on snug on the horizontal bung for me either, and trying to get that hose to not bind up was a royal pain. At least you succeeded where I failed haha.
