K&N Cleaning then fluctuating idle? Anyone experience this?

Just like the title says.. Recharged my K&N last night now my idles are fluctuating a little. They go to 1000 down to 700 etc. Anyone else experience this after cleaning their filter? I assume either 1) my filter was way dirty before and the ecu is re-learning or 2) filter oil somehow got my MAF.

Anyone experience this?

gunna assume that you soaked the filer and now your MAF is dirty. Clean and report back.

This.

If not that, I would re-check and make sure you reattached all the various vacuum lines properly.

Just took the filter off. Never removed vac lines. I will clean MAF again.

Just an update.. seems like idle is starting to smooth out before MAF cleaning. I cleaned the MAF for good measure anyways. must have been the computer re-learning. Always something with these cars.

Make sure you don't oil the filter too much. You could actually stop air from getting into the intake if you do.

So how did you "clean" and "re-oil" your filter? Describe every exact step.
