Keyless entry error, engine won't start. HELP!
Hello all,
I know this issue has been discussed before and I've gone through the searches with not much advice as to what to do. Both of my keyless remotes don't work (batteries replaced). This wasn't too much of a problem because I was still able to open the car and start it using the key. Now the car won't start anymore =(. I have the flashing red key light on the dash which i believe indicates that there is a malfunction with the keyless entry system. My question is, is there any way I can disable it so that I can at least drive it to the Mazda dealer to get it serviced? I've used all of the keys including valet key and battery is good so its not a battery issue. I've read in a post that its common that the rear antenna behind the rear bumper can get dirty and cause the malfunction. I would remove the bumper and try to clean it but the apartment that I live in is very strict about not working on cars in the parking structure (CA). This sucks because I can't even get a tow truck because it won't fit in the parking structure.
Does anyone know if its possible to do a rolling "pop start" with the keyless system error? Does that just disable the starter or the whole ignition system??
Thank you for the help and advice in advance.

Well, the problem is you have an '04 which means you have the keychain FOB. It happened to most who had replaced the battery and suddenly the buttons stopped working. You can either buy a switch blade FOB and program it yourself or take it to the dealer and have them reprogram your original FOB. I bet you are using the programming instructions for the switch blade which will not work with the keychain FOB.
If your ignition immobilizer has disabled your current keys, dealership will be the only one who can help. They would have to use the device stated above. You could try a rolling start if you have a manual transmission. I thought about doing that before I programmed the key for my switchblade FOB. The "room" fuse is in the kick panel, pop the cover out and look at the diagram that states ROOM.
The 2004 OEM FOB may be programmed by the dealer's M-MDS(Mazda Modular Diagnostic System), I believe. That is why most opted with the switchblade instead of trying to reprogram and reprogram the 2004 OEM FOB. It happened to many members when the FOB battery started to die down, after replacing it with a new one the FOB failed to work.

Got it started!!! Here's what I did:
Disconnected the battery overnight to make sure the system resets fully. Connected the battery the next morning and tried starting it and nothing. Left the key on the on position for about 5 minutes while the dsc light and security light kept flashing. Eventually the security light turned off. I proceeded to do re-register the keys using the procedure I say on another post. I did it for both my keys and the third valet key. Afterwards I turned the key and it started!
I wanna thank all you guys for the help. This forum is the best!!
