LCD issue - not radio or HVAC
Hi all,
Recently got my car searched by the fuzz because I'm a dodgy looking fellow and was maybe driving a little bit silly. Fortunately driving a little silly is all I do and there was nothing for them to find.
Unfortunately in their searching I think they broke my LCD screen. I didn't get to watch what they did with my car as they had put me in a paddy wagon to go be drug tested (they also won't find anything).
As an aside, this all happened on my birthday :/
Anyway. I got back in my car and the display was a little buggy. Everything still functions correctly (radio/hvac etc.) so I don't believe it's the common faceplate issue. The only problem is with the HVAC display. The current A/C temperature displays correctly. The ambient temperature normally displays correctly, but sometimes cuts off the first digit.
The little image showing which vents are open is completely gone. Changing A/C mode still opens/closes vents but the display does nothing. Likewise the bit at the top of the display that says AC/ECO/Ambient doesn't show up, or randomly lights up small parts of words, which may or may not be what it's currently set too.
Everything for the radio works 100%.
I pulled the radio and jiggled all the connectors and things, but nothing changed. I've currently got the battery disconnected in the hopes that something resets but I'm not hopeful. I assume either that part of the display has died or part of the connection is toast or something else.
If anyone has had this issue or has advice on what to do it would be greatly appreciated.
Happy birthday me
