Leaking oil!! What is this?

Car is leaking oil from drivers side of engine. It's coming from what appears to be electrical. What is that thing and why is it leaking. It's back from the plugs and just below the clutch line

Looking at parts lists I'm thinking it's the oil pressure switch. Going to pull it and see if I can't thread seal it and try again before buying a new sensor

This engine has 15k on it never a drop of oil. Now it just runs out with the motor on. It feels tight with fingers havnt put a wrench on it yet. Maybe the gravel road with wash board loosened it just enough.

I see it now. I've never heard of people having trouble with them. It looks like a cheap enough part I would just replace it to be cautious.

Could also be from the filter. Be sure the oil is not coming from above the pressure switch and dribbling down.

Don't be wasteful and start guessing and paying for parts you may not need. Clean it off with degreaser and then see where the leak starts to appear from.

Question, did your engine leak oil when you changed the oil? Mine seems to start leaking oil with a fast dribble if I pour my oil into my engine too fast, I have to pour slow and it will not leak. Same thing with yours? Also, I have a 2006-2007 engine in mine with the few revised things compared to a 2004 if that matters. Seems to leak right in that area that is why I am asking.

Never had a drop of oil before the pressure switch went out. New engine was put in, in 09 and 15k miles on that. I understand the motors come stripped so it's probably the original switch. Don't think it was bad the Teflon/thread sealer was tore up and thin looking. Installed new since it was $20 and I was under anyways.

hey dude how did you replace the oil pressure switch?! just noticed my car was leaking at the exact same place today. checked it out and confirmed its coming from the pressure switch but I have no idea how to get up there with any tools and replace it. ive literally been searching for 5 hours on this. I just noticed it today when I was at a local store, then drove it back to the shop where I work and it got way worse. just like you described, a steady drip. anyway any info on how to replace it would be ******* awesome and id appreciate it so much.
