A little help Im at a loss
First of all Happy holidays to all the fine members of rx8club.
Now that thats out of the way heres whats going on. 4 days ago I noticed a loss in power later that night she was struggling after 5k rpms. The next day it did the same on the way to work so I floored it to force a light. It flashed like it was in limp mode and stopped as soon as I shifted. The coode was a p300 (random misfire) so naturaly I replaced plugs wires and coils. The low end feels good now except under wot. The top end is the same. I dont know that cat isnt glowing and Im at a loss. Could my cat be failing. everything else operates fine. Any help with a direction to look in would be great.

Yes, it's likely that your ignition was failing. You solved that, but not before it started clogging your cat. Drop the cat and take a look inside, and/or take a quick run down the road without anything connected at the back of the header. If power is suddenly back or if you see damage inside the cat, then problem confirmed, get another cat, or go to a midpipe.

Just a quick follow up. My 8 is my daily driver so I was forced to use her with a partialy clogged cat which caused a p410. I rrecieved my after market converter yesterday installed it and cleared up all my performance issues. Theank you for all the help. Im changing my oil on Saturday and while im under the hood Ill check the secondary air intake for vacuume. Ill be sure to post a follwow up on that to help anybody with similar issues.
