Little help for a newbe
Hi every one this is my first thread and would like a little help...
Here's my story a friend of mine was going on holiday to Oz for 6 months I had a phone call from him saying he's ran out of Money and did I want to buy his rx8 with 36,000 on which I know was low on compression but only slightly so mazda main dealer told me..
so I took the gamble for £1000.00... He told me that the car can be a pig to start but once started drives fine... Car has been stood up for 4 months so towed car back to mine today took battery off to charge over night... Is there any think I can do to try and start the car eg. Engine flooded.. Coil packs . Spark plugs,, or is the engine nakered and need rebuilding/replacing

if the engine has low compression, you'd want to have that fixed asap.
plugs/ coils are also good to replace
EDIT: Check if you have the upgraded starter, as well. That will help with starting issues

probably major. You could order a re-manufactured engine and install yourself, or hire someone to do it.
What numbers are you showing for compression?
Plugs and coils are an easy fix. Check the DIY section of these forums

Check out the $100 thread in my sig for start up stuff. They are right about plugs and coils, but I recommend the relevant $100 stuff first. Where you are you can probably hold off on the cooling stuff.
