Low compression :(
Well it looks like my luck has finally run out!!!!!!!! I have been having trouble starting the 8 and finally i broke down and had the dealership do the carbon cleaning and a compression test and they told me tht the compression was a 3 and a 4...... I dont understand b/c it doesnt smoke or make any funny noises and once i do get it started it runs great with no loss of power....

If there are no local rotary shops, why dont you try rebuilding the engine yourself. Its really simple, they have dvds that teach you how. www.atkinsrotary.com or mazdatrix has them.
Rebuild kits cost around $500 from www.rotaryaviation.com You should rebuild it soon before your housings get fucked. Im sure your rotors and irons are still useable.

Did the dealership guy provide any more information like engine cranking speed during the test? If it were me, since the car seems to run fine, I'd get a second opinion from someone who can do a proper, independent compression test. If you're out of the extended warranty, you may save yourself a bundle.
For a rebuild, contact Kevin at RotaryResurrection.com.

[QUOTE=Brettus;3459552]See the attached chart (ignore the plotted data). It is presumably either BAR or kgf/cm2, in which case the 3-4 is very low. Personally, I would question their readings since according to the OP the car seems to run fine.
