Low RPM, shuttering and stalling
Hi all I am hoping that someone could help me.
I just got my car back from getting its clutch replaced and now when the car is idle it runs at around .5 to .75 rpms and is shuttering. If you keep it in neutral and rev it into high rpms it soon returns to between .5 and .75 rpms but after you have placed it into gear and drive it once you place it back into neutral as soon as the rpms go under 1 the car shuts down.
My mechanic says that it is just the computer trying to get used to the new clutch and soon it should fix its RPM's but does anyone know of anything else that could be doing this?
My car is a 2005 RX8 with 114,000mi on it. It has been at his shop for about 2 weeks without being started until today and I have already ran the engine at high RPM's to hopefully clear the carbon build up.
Also I am not that savvy to my own repairs so if you could use layman's terms please. I can work I just don't know all the terms yet.
Thanks guys and I hope I can get this working soon because I have work soon.
