Major problem, need help please!!!
Hi, my 05 231bhp won't start, done all the deflooding. Prob started when the car lost power and went into limp mode then died. Got recovered home.
After seeking advice on here people said coils had most prob gone.
Had AA man out at home did the defloods and took out the spark plugs that where soaked in fuel and turned it over, there is a good spark there so coils are ok, cylinder full of fuel though. Plugged in computer and no fault codes came up.
At my wits end with it and don't want mazda garage charges. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Yeah it's a manual, but AA man said it would do it no good doing that. Could it be a blown engine, if fuel is filling the cylinder that bad that could mean no combustion couldn't it. Doesn't seem to fire, turns over but no fire.

If you're not going to listen to us, then why are you here?
Seems like your "AA Man" is the expert...
You said you've tried all the deflood procedures, so you must have cranked all the fuel out with the spark plugs removed and the fuel fuse pulled.
Push/tow start is the easiest way to start a flooded engine... but what do I know.

It's not that I'm not listening, I am, sorry if I come over that way. Just stressed. Why would the car have started to lose power then the engine make a silly noise and go into limp mode. It not going to flood 20 minutes into a drive. Or is it? Text can sound like I'm being funny but trust me I'm not and your help is really good to get. Was also getting probs starting it when it was warmed up. I'd go for a drive and stop at a shop say and it wouldn't start, would have to wait 20 mins.(that's all before this break down) thanks again.

Don't worry... troubleshooting this kind of issue can be stressful since there are many possibilities.
What we need to do is take this one step at a time, which is why we need to get the car started first.
Once we get the car started, then we can see how it runs.
Could be weak ignition, could be a clogged cat (which can sometimes be visually checked by removing it), could be low compression, could be a very dirty MAF sensor...
Its just difficult to troubleshoot without the car running, and more difficult to troubleshoot over the internet.
The spark plugs being saturated with fuel tells us its indeed flooded, so lets get that resolved first.
I've worked on a car with one rotor that lost all its apex seals (no compression) and still could get the car to run (though it sounded like ****).

If you had problems starting the car when warm i'd check the catalytic converter, the fuel pump (Depending on your mileage) and do a compression test.
Flooding an engine with lower compression is somewhat easier but there may be other factors like a weak battery or starter playing in as well.
Cleaning the MAF, decarbing the engine and changing the plugs (and possibly coils and wires) if the engine turns out to be ok it's not a bad idea anyway.
