Midpipe to catback gap

There are two gaps I am talking about, one is that the stock donut gasket doesn't seem to be sliding all the way down on the midpipe, the first picture shows that pretty well. Other than that does the full gap you can see seem normal? I have never seen under another rx8 with a midpipe.

At one point the midpipe was on there without the donut gasket and it was loud as hell. Now with the gasket the sound is much tamer so it seems to seal properly the way it is the gap just seems a bit big. Its the agency power midpipe if that helps. The pics are a little blurry but its the best my camera could do.

So, nobody has seen the midpipe to catback connection under their own cars? I just want to know if that big of a gap is normal, I cannot seem to find pictures of that connection because people always take a picture of the midpipe and not the connections.

Pretty normal, the donut mesh gasket fills it and allows some flex.

Can't expect factory fit with aftermarket bits....

Yea I know thats for sure, factory bolts would not even fit the midpipe to catback part with the AP midpipe lol.

It just seems like a large gap to me thats why I was a little worried. I still get some smell from the midpipe when idling in place but thats probably because of the wind and not a leak.
