Missing and Power loss over 7000
My 8 has 900 miles, noticed last night if I put full throttle in it in third gear at over 7000 rpm's it misses bad, sounds like popcorn poping under hood. Almost to the point of quiting. If you ease back on throttle popcorn sound stops yet you can still hear and feel the missing. Funny thing is, as you go through 1st and second this does not occur?? It is like when the torq requirement at higher speed is reduce, somewhat, this occurs?
Any suggestions? I read one time about spark plug wires an issue?
Car was up to temp and I run 93 octane.
Thanks for help

Back up and running
Thanks guys for the help.
I took it in and they immediately updated the flash and then could not reproduce the problem. I also twisted the plug wires prior to going to shop (Thanks ! Go 48, I think) and I also could not reproduce the problem again? Not sure what the true fix was.
I was upgraded to to latest flash which was downloaded via the dealer 3 days ago. Not sure what flash it is neither was service tech. They said it was B-37??
But, car idles better, smoother shifting at lower rpm's, great acceleration at bottom end. A little more hesitation above 6000.
Thanks again guys!

"37.3 has a "P" flash'
WDS B37.3 software version, that is. The WDS (a shop dignostic/re-programming tool) is used to flash (re-program) your PCM (Powertrain Control Module) to the latest software, which, today, is "P".
The WDS at times requires it's software to be brought up-to-date with the latest software version (37.3 today), in order to re-flash cars to the latest flash version ("P"). Understand?
By your reference to B-37, it's probably the 37.3, with the "P" flash. The previous flash was "N" (not "O", tha letter was skipped - engineers don't like to use the letter "O" since it can too easily be mis-read as "0"). That WDS software version was B35.5
In the above referenced thread, you have 18 pages of shear reading enjoyment... some talk of which refers to 7k+ rpm performance. Enjoy...

Interesting. This sounds like the same problem I have with my "flutter" noise. We pick it up today.. Husband is going to take the service manager for a ride (this is the 2nd time they tried to fix it). They said they upgraded the flash. We shall see!
