My mazda rx8 MISFIRE
Hey, I'm sorry for posting here, but i need some advice.
Hey, today I was driving my 04 automatic Rx8 and i try to redline it, but when I press accelerator pedal to the ground it automatically shift at 6 rpm, is it normal?? Second I was out of fuel when I go to fuel station then I use bottle of water of about 1.5 liters to put some gas ⛽️ and put it on my car, it start well I drive it to gas station and put more gas on it, I continue drive it then the car turn off after 2 minutes when I was on my way home...
I let it idle for some minute, then I turn it on, it’s works after trying more than 2 times, when it work it start misfire when i drive it, although I get home safe with it, i dont know what is the problem? is it engine flooding or something else?

I think he means he used an empty water bottle for gas.

AT RX-8s come with paddle shifters, so you could put in M and see if the engine revs to 7500 RPM normally. I know a lot of AT cars shift before redline, usually right after the peak power RPM. If this is the case for the AT RX-8, then it should shift at around 7200 RPM when you floor it.
How old are your ignition components? Get a spark tester and check out the sparks.
If you have run out of gas, chances are you may have damaged the fuel pump, so that may be another cause of the misfire. Get a fuel pressure gauge and check out the fuel pressure.
