my poor baby......
well i went in for the recall last month.....and my dealership put a new engine in my baby.
drove her around for 2k miles breaking her in (as per racingbeat's web site)....afterwards (about 200 miles or so) i was driving to school...and my check engine light comes on when i am parking......so i pull it into one of my schools bays..and sign out a scan tool....turns out the code is for "intake runner stuck open (bank 1)"...i figure 'great good by intake manifold'.....and back to the dealership i go.
drop my car off and they check her out.....they confirm that my car needs a new intake manifold.....parts are ordered and work begins...
after they are done and are test driving my car the cel comes on again......turns out my car is now having miss-fires in rotar #1 and 2...so in goes new plugs...spark plug wires and 4 new ignition coils.....the tech also noticed that my upper and lower radiator hoses are seeping coolant (from teh ening ejob and intake most likly)...so they order 2 new hoses and clamps.
so i get my car back after 8 days in the shop (due to ignition, intake, and hoses)...on the way home...after coming to a stop about 8.5-8.7miles from the dealership (i live 9 miles away) a lill white smoke starts to seep from my hood...... then to my joy it starts to pump out liek a smoke machine and i smell burning coolant...greeeeeeeat.
well i limp her home and pop the hood.....a coolant line ruptured and it shooting coolant all over the front of the engine like a super soaker, and it driped on the exhaust......it got all the way up to the front cowl area (freash air duct) below and onto the window on the drivers side...hopefully it's only that one hose this time and nothing else....but at this point i wouldn't be surprised if anything happens
little bit worried b/c by the time the coolant made the car smoke...the coolant reservoir was empty and i have no idea how low the radiator is so i'm towing her (at the dealership exspense) on monday morning...
so to tally...since i've owned the car i've had
1. the whole evap system replaced
2. the oil pan replaced
3. the battery replaced
4. the starter replaced
5. the engine replaced
6. the intake manifodl replaced
7. 4 ignition coils replaced
8. spark plug wires replaced
9. upper and lower radiator hoses replaced
hopfully the new engine is okay after she pissed coolant for who knows how long

^hahaha tell me about he i was told "he's my best tech"....well i'd hate to see the worst ah well...got the car back and all is well...knock on wood. LOL
now i have to clean the engine bay out b/c there is a slight coolant smell still lingering...i was going to have them do it...but unless i need a part underwarrenty i do it my-self for obvious reasons.
so now to add to the list...alll rubber coolant lines have been replaced. lol
and yes Imidazole that is a lot of crap i've had done to my car.......on the plus side it's liek i have a new car now. LOL all i need no wis a new tranny and diff under warrenty and i'll be about streight

No, you have an extedned warrenty.
You have to double check everything is replaced correctly with an engine swap.
Umm..... near 50 k eh?
Maybe hoses were worn out. Hoses don't like being moved around. Disconnected and connected.
Experienced that and seen that several times. That's why it's recomended to replace hoses when your tinkering around with the engine and water pump.
Pain in *** to replace since you were already there under the hood.

yes i am aware of the extension....hehe and i'm waaaaaay past 50k
yea i should go to anouther dealership...but in a couple hundred miles it won't matter and i'll be doign all my own work....i all ready do all the maintenance, ssuch as oil change, coolant flush, brake fluch, tranny fluid, diff fluid, clutch assembly, flywheel. etc. etc. but i don't think i'll have any major problems with her anymore...everything has been replaced...adn i double checked all there work at my dealership (which is about a 10th of a miles down the road)...so all appears to be well with the world....knock on wood
