My rx8 get extremely hot after 20min
Hi i own a 2004 red rx8 and had 67k mile with full service history, last service was on feb. Start fine when cold n hot. The temp n compression gauge is normal. But after when driving for 20min the engine n car get really really hot. The interior of the car get hot and the middle compartment and the gear stick get really hot.
Also i can feel the heat under driver side and floor. Im in the uk. As is summer now that it get hot was fine at winter.
Can any 1help or having the same problem?
I have checked the coolant was fine.
I have taken to mazda for a check up n they have found no problem.
Just apart of my ac condenser was missing which was taken out as it was broken.
Didnt had it replace.
Will this effect the temperture?
I have asked mazda tech n he said that it will not effect it.
Cudnt find a problem with it.
Also the exhauts is rattling. He said is because is not the factory cat.
That was fitted by the previous owner.
Please help as i love the car to bit and dont want to blow my engine

I havent checked it yet but i was suppecting the same problem as the cat run thru the middle compartment. Im live in london city so the traffic is pretty bad. So i thin the unburn fuel n carbon mit have build up in cat which is causing the heat.. I think this mite b the cause. But if so the mazda dealer check up shud detect this problem?

The cat is forward of the transmission tunnel. Possibly the cat is bad, but the tunnel and transmission get quite hot anyway - the exhaust runs right through. Cupholders = cupwarmers. Get a real gauge or an OBDII reader to monitor the water temps in city traffic; the stock "gauge" is useless.

Yeah the i think is the cat then that is causing this heat. As the central compartment cup holder which boil my mac d coke in no time. The cd player also get really hot. Gonna get this check up n get a new cat if needed. C if this fix the problem. Thx for the advice. Hope this will sort the problem, finger cross.
