Nav location issues
Ok, I know that this issues might be an old issue so sorry if it has already been addressed.
I have an 2004 with the factory navigation. I recently purchased the 2008 Nav disk from NavTeq. When I put in the disk everything appears normal till I attempt to put in an address and it does not recognize my city. I have verified that I am on the correct region and I am. When you look at the nav map it does show the correct road/roads i'm on. So I then next looked at the Version that the screen shows the disk to be. Per that it shows as a 2003 version. My first thought is that NavTeq sent me a 2008 disk with 2003 data. NavTeq tells me that I need to take it to the dealer to have the hardware checked. On one side I don't mind doing that but I feel that if I will end up paying the dealer $300 then I might as well just close the screen and purchase a portable Garmin. I've never heard of hardware that would show the incorrect version of the data. NavTeq was not very helpful being that they do not supply Mazda anymore from what I was told.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Have you you actually driven to the address you were trying to input and verified that it exists on your map? Before you go to all that trouble, check out this thread; post 4 describes the cold start scenario: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/nav-shows-wrong-location-help-131192/
That's true, they switched to ND in 2006.

You have the latest data. The 2003 software version you refer too is the software used to run the map program. Based on your screen shot, it looks like you have the earliest version. I think there was a firmware update but you would have to check with the dealer to verify this.

The last update for the 2004-2005 system was released in 2008 and is still available from Navteq. Contact Mazda, they can send you the link to order it directly or you might get lucky and find one on E-Bay.
