Are the battery terminals clean and snug? Possible the starter motor burned out or the electrical connection to it is dirty/broken/etc. The radio going out when you try to start is normal, all key-start cars do that.
Any history on the car? Recent work, last time driven, previous problems?

Battery terminals are loose.
Very loose.
They are making just enough contact to power the dash lights, and nothing more.
If you can grab one and turn it, that's too loose.
....or the battery is VERY flat, but I assume you checked that.
It's ALWAYS the terminals....
