Need help getting a vibration at 67mph
I am getting a weird vibration at 67mph and up doesn't go away the faster you go. It feels like the drivers rear wheel but im not certain. You can feel it through the seat and its a slow vibrations on and off at 1 second intervals. When I turn to the right it seems to get better. I put the car up on jackstands and checked all the wheels for play thinking it was a wheel bearing, but everything seems tight. I also felt the wheels after driving to see if any were hotter than the others but everything normal temp. Any suggestions on what to check? Has there been any problems with the rx8 driveshafts? The car is a 2004 rx8 with 112k miles. Thanks

Is the vibation based on wheel speed? Engine rpm? You should feel it "in time" with something on the car.
1 second intervals feels WAY too slow of a frequency for anything at 67mph.

My guess is that it's a tire problem. Try this...
First, swap tires from front to rear. Does the problem go away? If the vibration is gone from the steering wheel can you feel it in your butt? If so, try swapping only driver's side back again. Does it come back to the steering wheel? If not, then try passenger side. You should be able to narrow it down to a certain wheel that is causing the problem. If not, it may be suspension related.
Tire shops frequently blame vibrations on bent wheels. That way, it's not their problem. If you can narrow it down to one wheel, have them dismount that tire and rotate it 180 degrees on the wheel. Another option is to find a performance shop that does high speed balancing of wheels while mounted on the car.
Again, if this problem didn't exist before the new tires, then it's probably a tire.

update... looking at it more closely the inside of the rim has scratches like its rubbing on something. I looked all around and couldnt see anything that it was rubbing on. Also if I do a circle to the left with the wheel cranked all to the left i can hear a rubbing sound. The rim that is scratched up is the drivers rear. Any ideas? Maybe a bad tierod end
