Been having problems starting my 8 up. Engine does not turn and all I get is the click sound. I was told by a mechanic that my starter relay has gone bad...so I ordered another one off Ebay. Got the new one plug in and it still won't start. I tried resetting my ECU by taking off the battery terminal and nothing still. So now I'm being told that I need to have my ECU reprogrammed or maybe get a new one.

Any ideas?

BTW...my starter relay, the top part had been removed exposing the switch like plates. So when I start my car...I have to remove the fuse cover from under the hood and turn the key to ON and press the relay to make contact...and it starts up. My car idling fine and running fine. Just can't get it start using the keys.

I have a 04 GT 6spd MT 67K miles I know that my ECU had been reflashed coz I can do the 20 break pedal stomp and the oil needle gauge would sway.
