New Cat Glowing, Misfires And Rough Ide Acceleration

Doesnt look like anyone else has said anything yet, but A: WHY THE HELL ARE YOU USING 5W30? AND B: WHY IS IT SYNTHETIC?
Im still relatively new to all of this stuff myself; but one thing I have learned is that you should stick with conventional oil, and the recommended viscosity.
Maybe your bad oil is not burning off and is clogging the cat?
Get that bad oil out of there ASAP, all 7 litres of it with a full tip side to side change (enough oil to empty and refill the oil coolers), and then possibly decarb (seafoam) your engine as you might have put some undue wear on your internals?
I am probably reading too far into this, but it cant hurt.

I agree with Liguors. You had or have a coil going bad that is likely causing the misfires. I had to replace my #1 Coil, so I replaced all four and changed the spark plugs. I was still getting a small misfire and after some reading, I found out that the fuel maps were probably off the charts (+25%) due to the bad coil. I reset my ECU (Both ways by removing the negative battery cable for several mins and also by turning the ignition switch on and depressing the brake pedal for numerous times). After that I never had a misfire. I highly recommend resetting your ECU after you replace a bad coil(s).

She Lives!!! And She's Better Than Ever!!
After Changing:
Cat, Coils, Plugs, Starter It's Like She's Brand New!!!
Only Issue Now Is It Sounds Like Theres Marbles In the Exhaust. But I Won't Complain!

Yeah I got the same problem in my exhaust...it happened right after my #1 coil went bad..I am thinking it may be something from the Cat. Converter...just havent had a nice weekend yet to take it off and see what is in there.

Yea, it was short lived lol i have a P2004 code (APV Stuck Open I Think) and a nice rattle like squeek coming from underneath
what do you need a nice weekend for? i changed my cat when it was snowing
Hopefully going to check to make sure i connected everything correctly tomorrow. Hopefully it's not broken... from what i read fixing the p2004 can be very expensive.
Don't really know how it coulda happened. The car was running amazing for like 2 days. Hopefully it was just something caused by my stupidity and my lack of light when putting everything back together

Starting and Idle issues
Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me. I have an 04 RX8 6spd, and a couple months ago I've noticed huge loss in power normally after the car had been running a while. Then it got to the point where it didn't want to start and the times it did start it had a very rough idle until it would just stall out. I had a guy bring his scanner over the other day to mess with it and apparently I had a vacuum problem and it was reading a LN rear o2 sensor! After messing with it for a couple hours we finally got it running when we fixed the vacuum problem and it ran great. I drove it for a few minutes and it ran perfect. So the next morning I got up, cranked it, and drove it across the yard and parked it (while leaving it still running) and after a few minutes it started having the same rough idle and stalling out. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Wish I had seen this thread sooner, just had a friend who damn near killed a saturn SC2 this way. Coolant temp sensor goes bad, car never goes into closed loop, and fans never turn on. As a result the cold fuel trims kill the cat (and they do it very fast.) and then if the car gets left idling long enough the engine cooks itself with no fans. Also the car runs bad because it is pig rich all the time. The needle may even apear to go to the normal temperature, but because it's a worthless gauge that tells you nothing, you never know it's 1/1000th of an inch below normal.
