Ahh, well I'll go easy on it for a while (although i'm driving it at all until its running decent). Did it run differently while it wasn't lubed well?

Make sure the mechanic that worked on it didn't hook coils up wrong if he had them apart. What else was worked on?
Have you confirmed your fuel pressure yet?

If the new plugs were installed before you got it running then they are probably fouled now. Also check for oil in the UIM and if there is any clean the MAF.

I'll take apart all the coils tomorrow and make sure they're all put together correctly. I already cleaned the MAF. Whats an UIM? Intake/filter box?

Upper intake manifold, but what I really meant was the accordion tube between the maf and throttle.

UPDATE: my luck is terrible

So today I did some more work on the 8. Took of the airbox and acordian tube (no oil to be seen), cleaned the throttle body, and changed the battery (it was almost out of warranty so why not get a free new one?).

I also took off the ESS and cleaned it real good and putting it back on I broke the damn 10mm bolt off! (see pic) Anybody have some suggestions to get this out? I saw someone on here had done the same in the past (i forget who).

Allllso, I took the coils apart to assure everything was in there properly and I noticed one has wore much worse then the other. The copper was very corroded (see pic), however the outside looked like new (see other pic). Is this my problem and what would cause this?

Replace all of your coils. That type of failure (on the 3rd contact in the 2nd picture) is pretty rare, this is the first time I've ever seen it other than mine.

It looks like one of your coils had a total existence failure, and another one failed normally. They're probably both leading coils, which would explain the not starting.

The screw is going to be fun......if you can get access to it you could try to slot it.....

I would heat it up with a torch....and douse it in penetrating oil. Then see if you can slot it and turn it out. You might be able to drill it out carefully as well...and then re-tap it. Make sure you can get access to it before you start making things worse.

It will likely screw out easily if you can just get ahold of it with something, maybe even with a strong magnet

Very Late Update

So it's been some time since I've even looked at this but I figured I would send an update for anybody else who has these problems...

I tried everything to get that screw out. While I was drilling it my drill bit got to hot and broke off too! Finally I just rotated it (keeping it in the same position though and drilling a new hole, and bolted it. Worked fine.

After the new coils and putting everything back together the Lila (that's the RX8) runs great.

Got 80K on it now, got my fingers crossed for another 80k (hey, I can dream)
