Newly Rebuilt Engine low compression
I just rebuilt my engine and the compression is low, so low it wont start. i want to put atf in my rotor faces through the leading spark plug hole to build compression to start it up for the first time. how much atf do i put in it? in each face? thank you! or id there another way to build the compression. i think i might have put too much vaseline on my side sides and corner seals, lol

How do you know it has low compression?
Try pull starting the car.
A fresh engine should start without problems. If it doesn't want to pull start just take it away and buy one from somebody that actually knows what he's doing.

I did a compression test with a regular tester and the reading were 50-50-25. I can hear the car igniting on two faces but wont turn on. I think your right bse50, Im gonna just get another engine from a reputable builder. all of my seals are brand new. apex, corner, side and also all the springs. My rotor housing seemed to be in really good condition. ohhhh well. cant say i didn't try! When the car tryies to turn on my rpm's on my dash are a little under 500 rpms. I think its spinning just a little too fast. which also leads me to beleive there is no good compression.

You are in the arm-pit-of-California... Anyway, inquire with the guys at LUCKY7 RACING and you can check this listing in the SoCal Lounge by Spinning Sushi.

Hi guys its been a while, but I finally got this engine running.... I had stopped trying to figure out what went wrong on this build and bought a low mile reman....... Well that reman failed this past month. I decided to look back at this newly built engine that had low compression. Since then I have gained a lot more knowledge, I have all the proper measuring tools. I measured all my side seals and they were at a great clearance 0.015 to the corner seal. I measured my irons and housings, all in excellent condition. I couldnt really figure out what went wrong... IT COULD ONLY BE ONE THING...my corner seals. I had installed the corner seals that comes with the atkins kit, the solid seals... I had read previous posts of how I should NOT use these, so I took them off and installed the used ones from the reman that had just failed on me (broke an apex seal). I just wanted to see my compression numbers with these used ones.... Well guess what???? my compression sky rocketed, I have 120psi per face now! I was having some issues with the eccentric shaft end play, but I figured it out....I took my D spacer to a 320 grit sand paper and sanded it on a very flat service. I got my play at bit tighter clearance than mazda. I am very happy that I got this running!
