No heat, multiple troubleshooting steps taken
Hey guys, so I have a 2006 Shinka that has NO heat blowing, only A/C, the climate control **** does not adjust the air temperature at all, the fan speed and middle adjuster works fine, it also has a Metra aftermarket kit in it. I talked to Metra tech support today and gave them the serial number off the bottom of the unit and they confirmed it was from 2012 and has the most recent firmware on it and did NOT need to be updated. I have tried another climate control unit today and has the SAME issue so unless that unit also was defective, I'm kinda at a loss on where to go next for diagnosing why I have A/C but no heat.
my thoughts are the extension wire is bad to the metra box, or the metra box is defective itself.
I have taken the original climate control board out of my shinka and dropped it off today with a local electronics repair shop who will be reflowing and repairing multiple solder joints including the notorious 3 at the bottom that are identified in this post DIY: No Heat? Repair the Heater Control - RX8Club.com but if that doesn't work I don't know what else to do
PLEASE HELP these virginia winters the last couple years still get really cold.

let us know, the next step would be to pull the wiring plug off the heater control flap motor on the evap/heater assembly under the dash and apply 12v power directly to see if it actuates or not. Not entirely sure, but I thought it fails in the heater on position so it might be okay. Thats what would usually happen without the Metra kit. Which implies it may be fine.

@TeamRX8 do you have pictures or a guide of where that's at? My mechanically minded friend is helping with that but he's very picture/manual/video driven when it comes to this kind of thing.
Is this the part?

no screw is necessary, just flip the lever up or down to go from full hot or full cold and it stays there. Even with riding hard and bumps it has never shifted out of place. disconnect the metal rod at the end is really all you need to do.
