Is this normal?

When I turn the car to start the car, sometimes it takes a little longer to turn over...is this normal?

I'm gonna let you in a little secret...

The 04 and 05 have weak starters, the 06 and newer have stronger starters. There is a TSB for the 04/05.
Here's a bonus, there's also a little link on the top right of this forum labeled "Search" with an arrow pointing down.

2005 27,000 miles auto trans

if it has the weaker starter, what do you suggest I do?

Of course, that's only if you're still in warranty.

go to the dealership and say it takes long to crank. maybe your starter is going bad?? they should repair it man. mine did the same thing

Yes, it can take a bit longer if the engine is hot.

Make sure you have all the flash updates.

Lots of people have good results with the improved starter.

I have 2004 with original starter and never swapped it because I find all that I've needed is a robust battery. I don't worry too much if it takes 2 or 3 seconds, as long as it starts. Usually it's much quicker than that. If it is taking more than 4-5 seconds on a frequent basis, then I'd start to worry, imho.
