Not another starting thread

Lately the good old 05 manual transmission rx8 (107,000m) has been taking a few extra cranks when hot. Its not every time. For example if the car sits for 60 seconds or less it starts just fine. If it sits hot for about 5 minutes, it takes 3-4 seconds to start. I would think that a hot start is a hot start no matter if it's 1 or 5 minutes after the engine was shut off. Any thoughts?

PS
Battery just replaced,
Thinking about replacing the stock starter this weekend.

I'm sure you can figure this out based on the many starting threads that have been posted as of late.

My thought is that there's a problem with your car! How do you feel about your fuel system and ignition?

Probably true!
I replaced spark plugs and coils because of misfires about 10k ago. As far as the fuel system I don't know. I run fuel system cleaners about every 1500 miles.

Since you have such a high millage car, consider replacing your fuel pump (they usually fail over 60k miles) and, like you said, the starter may be an issue.
