Oil change killed my car????

I'm not sure it could cause this (not an expert) but having the dealership OVERFILLING a car they sell/maintain is def. bad.
Have you pointed them out they overfilled it? I know for a fact places like Canadian Tire (here in Canada) or somewhere like pepboys or something in the USA dont look at how much oil they add, they simply add a bunch then start the car to make sure the oil light is not on... thats really dumb and thats why I dont go there to get an oil change. But having a dealer do this is really bad.

A similar thing happened to me. I brought the car into the stealer for an oil change. After the oil change, I drove home and checked the oil level (something I do regularly). The oil level was so high, I could not see where it ended on the dipstick. Even after wiping it and putting it back in/out again, the whole dip stick was covered in oil.
I didn't drive the car the next day, but drove it on the following day. It was fine for a while and then it started misfiring and trying to stall. The CEL light was flashing. I pulled over and looked under the hood, checking the oil level again, and it was still covering the entire dipstick. Now the stealer tells me I need a new engine. Could overfilling the oil cause this???
