Oil injector vacuum

Hey club. While the car is apart for various upgrades, I tested the check valve on my oil injectors, and none of them are even close to 9.65psi. I flushed them with Seafoam and left them to think about what they've done, maybe it helps.

But here's the question: oiling aside, how much should I care that the check valves let air pass? It's all metered air and the injectors are before the compression stroke. I premix and have increased injection rate via a tune, so even if the oil injection isn't as efficient as it used to be, I'm thinking quantity makes up for quality. Plus, they do still pass air the "correct" way as well, so in theory core functionality is not affected?

The logical thing to do would be to replace them, but it turns out, new ones are almost 100 USD a pop + shipping, tax, etc. Having a hard time justifying the spend when all it would really fix is some extracurricular intake recirculation -- by my logic. Need a second opinion

Thoughts/experiences?

I tried to explain this in the check valve hardhead’s other recent threads. The check valve is not for the relief air. The oil injectors are exposed to both the vacuum and initial compression cycle. The check valve is to keep the oil from pushing back during that compression phase (last sentence in first image below). That’s what he doesn’t get putting those check valves in the air relief lines way out past the where the oil injector interface is. There’s too much air volume between those two points and it won’t prevent that from happening. It’s cycling between vacuum and pressure. Any variance in that function affects output.

If you’re relying on the OMP for lubrication then don’t screw around. $400 is cheap insurance if you think it through. If you don’t want to buy a new set of oil injectors then you at least should look for good used ones. I may have some and will look.

Thanks Team, that makes sense. A used but known good set would be ideal for sure. I'll continue premixing for now while hunting one down.
