Oil in Intake / Air Filter

Oil on the air filter !?!?
I was cleaning the engine bay today and inspected the air filter as well.
It was soaked with oil in the area right in front of the suction funnel going to the air duct. It seems like oil actually ejected from the engine through the air duct !
Anybody experienced such thing? What could be the cause?
About 2 weeks ago I did an oil change, then few days after that as I was driving at WOT the car lost power and the CEL blinked for 10 seconds, then everything seemed fine. Even better, some raspy sound I used to have every time I touched the accelerator pedal since few thousand miles back, was gone.
I ordered an K&N drop-in filter replacement already and turned this one 180deg. so that the oil spot is not in front of the engine aspiration funnel.
Any ideas of what could cause this? After the oil change, I checked the level and was normal (max., not overfilled). Now is half, after few hundred miles - since some of it is in the air filter/air duct. At least my engine has extra lubrication Not sure how happy my catalyst is though.... I should visit the dealer, I guess....

Never no more....
I had this happen about a year ago, I think the dealer just overfilled.
Won't happen again, I installed a catch can like the RX-7 guys have, between the engine and the intake.....

Now that I see that reservoir you installed - I recal a plastic container mounted on a side of the rubber air duct. I thought that was for some resonance tuning of the intake - but maybe that is a catch can?!? Except its opening is on the bottom - if I turn it 90 degrees, it could hold some oil....
I checked the tubes coming into the air duct. The top ones seem dry - where is the bottom one coming from? Could that be the culprit? Could that be for the oil metering pump? Not sure....
Anyway, where did you get that can from and how is it mounted? Should that be on some tube (which one?), in between the air duct and the engine? In your pic it seems to be mounted on the airbox.

Can do....
It is very well made for the price - $25!
Even says Mazdaspeed on the side! It's fixed to the airbox, that was the only free (vertical) space I found, and bolts into the plastic.
Got it on the 'bay....here

StealthTL,
Thanks for the tip, I ordered one myself. However, on which of the 3 tubes coming into the air duct you mount it? Or you join the 3 tubes with some manifold and pass that one through the catch can?
Thanks in advance.
