So my rx8 was leaking a bit of oil and i took it to the dealership. They told me that they would have to take it apart and look to see where its leaking from. They charged me around 300 for labour and said it would most likely be a small inexpensive thing to fix. I did some research and noticed that thats about right for dealer prices.


Now i get a call a day later saying injector seals are not the cause of the problem the problem seems to be "lower" and its leaking from an "odd spot".

I apoligize if im too general when i describe this issue but thats because im just learning about these things as i go. Any ideas or experiences with this type of issue?

 

Have them define better what "odd spot" is and photograph if possible.

if you dont bother take a flashlight and look wheres leaking, how do you expect us to help you?

 

Injector seals Ya right

Most likely would be MOP seal, Front seal ( passenger side) or oil pan...or the oil inlet tube ( drivers side)

Don't let them sell you a new Metering oil pump either
