OIL problem..

So i am still new to the rx8.. and i am learning at the same time.

DESRCIPTION:

So i changed the oil about 200 miles ago.. i changed the filter as well. This was not hard at all probably close to the easiest oil change ive done (other then cramming my hand down in the engine to grab the filter, my arms are not skinny.) I had a 5qt jug, and me being as special as i am sometimes, i thought it was 4qt, so i put the whole jug in. I then realised shortly after thatr (did not even take the car off of the jack stands yet, that i had used to much, so i redrained about a qt (was basically just judging from the amount that went into the pan.) SO the other day i checked the oil, it seemed to be maybe at the half way point between low and high on my stick. I thought i'd att a little bit just to get it at about 60/40 so that it was towards the higher end a little bit. I topped it off checked it and it looked good to me. today I drove the car for less then a mile since that top off and decided i was going to stop to check the oil. i did and it was on the H on the top side. I immeditaly took the car home about a half mile away. So overall i drove the car less than a mile. I know how sensitive these cars are and please understand although im noob, i take responsibilty and i want to learn everything 100% the right way. This is not my only car and i am okay with fixing things on it.

QUESTION:

After all that i bet your wondering, why? Well because i want to know if someone can tell me what the possible problems over oiling can cause on the 8. and if u think 1.5 miles would be enough to cause any problems. I will be draining some tonight when i leave work.

Thanks.
