hi guys,

so my car has been idling really rough since my garage had done a oil change and i decided to have a snoop around the engine bay..

I noticed an oil like stain around the maf sensor on the exterior..

Any ideas why this has happened? and if its related to my rough idle problem?

remove it and check inside. If there is oil, then it's a problem. Have you cleaned your MAF?

I've not cleaned it yet because I'm finding it hard to find a good MAF cleaner here in London.

I did pull the maf out the other night and the temp sensor looked a lil black but i couldnt tell if the actual air sensor was dirty..

any electrical contact cleaner will work. Google that and you should find one in your location

OR rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.

Only do this if you are mechanically inclined or else you can break the thin wire.
